About Dean
Founder and Principal of Gallery TCR (Tri-City Rocks), Dean LaPerna has been a lifelong avid rockhound and collector. He opened his first brick-and-mortar store as a small shop in Mesa, AZ in 2013. The location was quickly outgrown, so he opened a larger facility in late 2014 in Tempe, AZ, where all the ingredients of the current business were created and refined.
The Tri-City Rock shops enabled Dean to transition into online shows to reach more rock and mineral fans. Gallery TCR live shows quickly embraced social media and grew quickly. Dean closed the Tempe store location in early 2018 to focus on the current online live/interactive model.
Dean conducts live interactive shows, showcases tons of great material, and holds monthly rock swap meets where his customers get to meet and know Dean and his crew. He travels the southwest and other parts of the world in search of new materials and generously shares his passion and knowledge of rock, mineral, and gem materials with all who are interested.
